Update on Eva Lopez:

Dear Email Buddies and Friends,

The results of the removal of brain tumor is positive.  The surgery went well.  I had a few setback but I am building up my energy level a little bit more each day.  The biopsy shows the tumor is benign, (no cancer).  I was in the hospital for 4 days, returning home to continue my recovery.  5 days after returning home, my right side arm and leg went numb and I needed to have a cat scan to make sure there was no bleeding.  Fortunately, I had no bleeding and the doctor determined this was a normal side affect.  I was given more steroids and within 24 hours I had feeling back.  The 15 staples were removed on 5/24 and the doctor felt the surgical wound is healing very well.  I get cramping on the right leg now and then.  Another side affect that will not be permanent.  A small portion of the tumor was not removed because it is located in a sensitive area. My final procedure will be Friday, June 1st. to remove that portion.  The procedure is called Gamma Knife, a one time radiation treatment.  My doctor says once this is done, the tumor will not grow again.  So I should be getting back to a normal life just in time for the summer.

Thank you, friends, for your continued thoughts and prayers.  I am very blessed to have a circle of friends like all of you.

Have a wonderful remainder of the spring and fabulous summer.
