Matt and I went to Denver on July 9th to visit Mark and the family. We were able to see him in his room and he opened his eyes for just a moment. I'm sure he did not recognize me, but it was wonderful to see his eyes nonetheless.

Uncle Bobby and Aunt Cordy look very strong and all the boys (Ken, Steve and Matt) and their children showed up for their visit. Mark is very blessed with a family that loves him dearly and supports him continuously.

Although he is still in critical condition in ICU, the prayers are working - keep them coming. The family needs them as much as Mark.

We love you Mark and family. We are here for all of your during this difficult time and during the recovery process.

Love,
Cindy

As a follow-up to Joey's email to the Remolinos Family web site:

We went by Denver Health Medical Center to see how Mark and the family are doing. I will try to relay the info we received as accurately as possible!

Uncle Bobby and Aunt Cordy are doing fine. Mark was in surgery today to close the wound on his skull from the fracture and they had a drainage tube in place to relieve the pressure. His cheekbone and eye were also injured and they are not sure what the extent of the damage will be until he wakes up. He is now heavily sedated and they state that the prognosis is good but won't know more for the next few days. Other family members in the waiting room at the time we were there were Carol and her son Neil, Anna and her girls and Roberta's girl, Aunt Charlotte, Maria and her son, Ken, Steve and other family friends. They are holding up well but may have a long time of waiting for more news. Mark is in the SICU unit and the waiting room phone number is 303-436-3364. There will probably be someone there at all times until he is moved to another area. I know that family and friends are all concerned for Mark and the family and they are very grateful for the prayers that you all have said upon hearing the news. We will visit again and keep you informed of any news we hear.

This was something I ran across recently:

 Family Ties
Family Ties Are precious things
Woven through the years,
of laughter, love and tears.
Family ties are cherished things
forged in childhood days,
by love of parents deep and true,
by tradition, by family ways.
Family ties are treasured things
and far though we may roam,
the tender bonds with those we love
still pull our hearts toward home.

God Bless All,
