Dear Family and Friends,
Alan Martinez has had a serious accident. On Saturday, April 29th he fell off a ladder at the Rite Aid in Grand Junction, where he is the manager. He fell several feet and landed on his hip, where he seriously fractured his hip socket.
He was quickly flown to Denver Health’s Center for Complex Fractures and Limb Restoration where he has been since Saturday. Last night (Monday), he underwent about five hours of surgery and will remain in the hospital in Room 360 at least until the end of the week. His doctor-surgeon informs us that the surgery went “very well.”
He has endured some serious pain over the last few days. This is a very serious injury and his recuperation will take some time.
Alan is alert and able to talk with visitors, and there have been many. Almost all of his relatives from Grand Junction have visited in the last couple of days. Many Denver area relatives and friends have also visited. Joseph and Laura Martinez also flew in from Tucson.
We all wish him well and pray for a good recovery process.
Sincerely,
Joseph Martinez
